He was a literary critic, professor of French literature at the University of Turin. Co-director of “Giornale storico della letteratura italiana”, he also devoted himself to the study of Italian and English literature. At his school were students Mario Soldati and Mario Bonfantini who described “of supreme finesse” the critical work of the Master.
