Maribor se lahko pohvali, da je bil v njem leta 1930 ustanovljen prvi Rotary Klub v Sloveniji. Njegovi člani, uspešni poslovneži, intelektualci in drugi uveljavljeni posamezniki, so preko svojega humanitarnega delovanja pustili pomemben pečat v zgodovini mesta. Pot je nastala v sodelovanju z Osnovno šolo Draga Kobala Maribor ob obeležitvi 90. obletnice ustanovitve Rotary kluba Maribor.
