International Conference on Cultural Routes in Nova Gorica

From April 14 to 16, 2025, ASCE President Mrs. Lidija Pliberšek participated in the International Conference "Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Recognition and Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Cross-Border Regions".
From April 14 to 16, 2025, ASCE President Mrs. Lidija Pliberšek participated in the International Conference "Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Recognition and Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Cross-Border Regions".

The event, held across the border towns of Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and Tolmin, brought together cultural heritage professionals, Council of Europe representatives, and ECoC partners to discuss the importance of cross-border cooperation in preserving shared cultural heritage.

During the conference, Mrs. Pliberšek highlighted the European Cemeteries Route, a certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, emphasizing cemeteries as spaces rich in historical, cultural, and social significance. She also shared insights into ASCE’s ongoing initiatives and presented the Park of Remembrance in Maribor—a powerful symbol of unity and remembrance.
