Working as Maribor cemeteries director since 2002 and president of ASCE since 2011, Lidija has developed the science and practice of cemeteries management models.

Through numerous articles and presentations her unique contribution is in connecting the dots between various roles of modern cemeteries as burial, individual and collective pilgrimage, cultural heritage, tourism and educational space.
