An angel guarding the tomb and some Egyptian symbols of death increase the sense of mystery: the pyramid – very frequent in Staglieno – is on the background of the entrance of the tomb and the left hand of the contemplative angel leant on a small sphinx, which, regrettably, was removed in recent times.
