About my cemetery work

As an art historian I studied forms and types of sculptures in the First Cemetery of Athens. I soon discovered the persons behind the monuments and that each of their story is unique. In this way, every artistic expression acquired a greater meaning. I was thrilled to observe relationships and connections, in a historical, artistic, linguistic and environmental context. I was involved in the care of this place and the development of educational activities and conservation programs.

In my work, everything forms a narrative. Every time I feel like I'm in a forest and I can't wait to see what I'll discover on the path I choose to walk. With this in mind, I organize thematic routes. Each one has its own content, but at the same time it is part of the whole cemetery landscape and its history. I believe there is much to discover and learn. With respect to a place of silence, I enjoy walking in the footsteps of the past, interpreting it in the present and render every knowledge and experience useful for the future. On these "journeys" I enjoy having fellow travelers.
