This cemetery claims, for about 2 centuries now, to be a modern myth of Athens in terms of art, history, philosophy. What is the truth?

About my cemetery work
Not only will we visit the artistic monuments and eminent personalities buried in the first cemetery of the modern Greek state, but we will also investigate their history. Not only will we talk about the politics and strategies that made this cemetery the best-known modern cemetery of Greece, but we will also evaluate them. Not only will we reflect on death and past times, but we will also discuss about the present and future life of the cemetery.
I have researched this cemetery's history, as my MA dissertation, and this thesis was published, being the first general history of a cemetery ever published in Greece (2015). I have also researched 4 historic cemeteries of the U.K. and several other cemeteries around Europe (esp. Vienna, Glasnevin, Pere Lachaise etc.); and I am part of the engaged public of cemeteries - I love visiting cemeteries. Being an independent researcher and a cemetery visitor gives me the opportunity to present the whole and unknown picture of the First Cemetery of Athens, to talk about people, politics, economy, art, religion, society and engage with the real, and not just the mythical, space of the necropolis. Visitors can expect not to sit quietly and follow me around, but to actively participate in the conversation and intimately engage with the place!
